Sabrina Jansen

"Since childhood I've longed to be an artist, however it wasn't until I had children of my own that I had the opportunity and wisdom to follow that path. I began painting large whimsical images for my children when I realized the undeniable passion for simply creating. Seeing a pattern of colors and shapes emerge on the canvas is extremely rewarding."

Sabrina Jansen was born and raised in Southern California and currently resides in San Juan Capistrano with her family. She has studied extensively both in university art programs and workshops with acclaimed artists. Her admiration of the techniques of masters, John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla and Sergei Bongart, has provided inspiration and valuable tools to apply to her own paintings. She has studied with contemporary masters Scott Burdick and Jove Wang, who have taught her the subtleties of creating a powerful painting. She spends a great deal of time considering compositions that are rich in content  and reflect her desire to depict light as it falls across the subject. "My goal is to push myself with color, design and brush strokes to create a painting that resonates with the energy and passion I felt while painting."  The result of Sabrina’s vision for her artwork culminates into a beautiful, subtle palette, filled with expressive brushwork, and texture.  Her paintings are a joy to behold, captivating the viewer with a sense of place, time, and mood.
