Kevin Kibsey

Kevin Kibsey, a native Arizonan, launched his art career at an early age, Mastering the mediums of butternut squash and strained peas. Later, as Kevin gravitated toward crayon and finger-paints, his work could be found on the pages of books and magazines as well as on the walls of his bedroom. The media in which Kevin currently works are charcoal, watercolor and oil. In addition to being a fine artist, Kevin enjoys a career as a professional illustrator. These days his artwork can be seen in the pages of books and magazines such as Arizona Highways, and found among some of the finest private art collections. Kevin is a member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society.

Kevin sees art as an evolution and a never ending learning process. Having earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona, he continues to further his education through private study of the many artists for whom he has great respect and admiration. Kevin feels that it is important to pass on what he has learned to others, and volunteers teaching the nuances of crayons and finger-paints (on paper of course) to first and second grade children.

Next to art, Kevin's second passion is for horses, and is proud of his certificate of completion from Arizona Cowboy College. He realized a boyhood dream by working as a wrangler and a cowboy, and served as ranch manager for the Eagletrail Ranch, Arizona. Through these experiences, Kevin developed an affection for nature that serves as inspiration for his art.

When not painting his subjects on location, Kevin works from his studio nestled among the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains near Black Canyon City, Arizona.
