“Fountain of Jesus” Photograph On Saturday Feb 26, 2011, we unveiled a beautiful photograph taken at the Fountain of the Four Evangelists at the Mission. It is something pretty incredible that needs to be seen and experienced. The lady who took the photo was sent to us by Mechelle Lawrence-Adams, Director of Mission San Juan Capistrano, who we’ve known for a long time. We are located across the street from the Mission, which is one of our favorite places. We have curated art shows at the Mission for the last 6 years and donated from those shows to help with preservation of our beautiful “Jewel of the Missions.” The Catholic Church and Mechelle Lawrence- Adams, who works for the Catholic Church, stay clear of making comments on matters like this. Mechelle directed the person who took the photo to us, saying she felt we would be the right place to send them to. Our gallery is very much a place filled with the love of God, dedicated to artistry, things of the soul and the spirit. Besides our talented artists, we carry a large selection of museum quality antique saints and icons. So, it is a place where we celebrate God’s gifts of artistry, nature, and the soul daily. The reason this photo is so special, is because when Lynda Kennedy (the amateur photographer having a fun day at the Mission) got home, she discovered that the water coming from the top of the fountain in the photo, very literally looks like a small ice sculpture of Christ. It is very beautiful and the stories developing from it as people experience it are also pretty amazing. I personally had a very beautiful and meaningful experience the day that I saw it that I will share with anyone interested. I feel the purpose of this “gift” is to connect us all who humbly and faithfully seek out love and hope, and who value sharing that with others. At the very least, it is a beautiful image, shaped by one of nature’s gifts and life sources; water, in a fraction of a second of time. At its most profound, it is “The living water” food for the spirit, soul quenching beauty for those who thirst. The photo has already created many beautiful moments, that for me, can only come from God and the Holy Presence; the Holy Spirit. A portion of the sales of the photo are going to a clean water charity and to Save the Children (Lynda & Mike Kennedy) & Feed the Children (Villas & Verandas). Aida |
